There are many reasons we use glass. Firstly, juice tastes so much better in glass.  Plastic is extremely harmful for the environment, and for our bodies too! The chemicals in plastic bottles (even BPA free bottles) that can leach out of the plastics into your juice are endocrine disrupters and can play around with hormones. Yuck! You don’t want that! Yes, even BPA free plastic bottles can leach estrogen mimicking compounds into the food.

Yes we do! We also issue you loyalty points.  For every juice bottle you return we issue 50 points ($0.50) per bottle that you can use towards your next purchase.  Once our driver picks up the bottles it can take 24-48 hours for your points to update online.  If you are returning your bottles in-store and want the points to be issued online please let us know because our in store account does not connect to your online account.  We are working on making this connected not to worry!

We make our juices daily in our Mississauga facility.  Our juices are made to order, so you’ll never receive a product that has been sitting in our warehouse for weeks or months!  Because our juices are unpasteurized they do have a shorter shelf life.  We juice and bottle the juices and deliver them right to your doorstep the very next day.

Absolutely NOT!  We never add any sugar or any other additives or preservatives to the juice.  Only whatever is listed on the juice bottle itself. Our juice is never watered down either!

Juice cleansing is a great first step into leading a healthier lifestyle.  We recommend easing your way in by trying a juice cleanse where you can still eat, then trying the juice fast.

This helps reduce shock to your body and reduce any detox symptoms.  You will still enjoy the benefits of increased energy, better sleep, and cleansing.

Cleanses and detoxification programs are not meant for everyone. Our juices contain no preservatives or additives however our juice cleanse/fast programs temporarily restrict protein and fat. Therefore, pregnant and breastfeeding women, children and elderly are not advised to do a juice fast. Incorporating green juice into one’s daily diet is recommended for these groups of people as this does not restrict the remainder of the diet.

Depending on what program you chose, we do have options where you can still eat on your cleanse. We have created a juice cleanse program where you are still able to eat and enjoy three juices per day. We list out the foods that you can and cannot eat during this program. When you are doing a juice fast you should only be drinking juice.

At Green Press, we have differentiated between the two because different people have different health/fitness requirements and goals. A juice cleanse consists of both juice and some foods, whereas a juice fast is strictly juice with no foods allowed during this program. Due to the drastic change in diet that one would experience going from their normal diet to a juice fast, at Green Press we have created a program that allows for some food during the cleanse. Please see list of foods allowed and foods to avoid. A juice cleanse is also a great way to ease into a juice fast for those who would like to do a juice fast.

Depending on how severe your symptoms are, always remember that it may get worse before it gets better. It takes a few days for your body to get rid of toxins, hence the symptoms, but the symptoms eventually go away and you start to feel the benefits of the cleanse. Try to get as much rest as possible during the cleanse as this is an essential part of cleansing.

Always listen to your body, if you don’t feel comfortable continuing your cleanse then do what is right for you.

It is important to note that you may lose weight, but the purpose of a cleanse is not solely for weight loss. The purpose is to kick start your metabolism and cleanse out any toxins lingering around that may halt your weight loss. Cleansing will help you get rid of toxins as well as set you on your way to healthy eating and living. Most of our clients to lose weight and keep it off if they continue with a healthy diet after the cleanse is complete. It is very important to continue with eating healthy to maintain the benefits you receive during the cleanse.

Absolutely! Every bottle of juice gives you 2-3 lbs of produce per bottle. Health Canada recommends 7-10 servings of vegetables per day.  Many people have a difficult time reaching that target with a busy and hectic lifestyle. Juicing is a great way of incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet as well as an easy and effective way to get those daily vegetable requirements.  

Many of our customers choose a juice subscription that meets their weekly requirements so they can still enjoy the benefits of juicing even when they aren’t cleansing!

Cleansing while trying to overcome an illness is not recommended as it is important to consume a balanced diet that includes protein to ensure proper immune function. We do offer immune booster elixirs to help you recover quicker. Please speak to one of our Nutritionists for more information. Most medications are okay to be taken during a cleanse, however, just to be safe please ensure you list any medications you are taking and for what reason on your assessment form as some of our ingredients may interact with certain medications.

This would really be up to you!  If you are doing a juice cleanse, where certain foods are still permissible you will find that you still have energy for physical activity, and if you would like to continue with your workout regimen you are encouraged to do so. Anyone doing a juice fast is not advised to engage in high intensity exercise due to the restriction in calories and decrease in protein in diet. Stick to walking, swimming, yoga, stretching as these are great forms of light exercise during a juice fast.

You should continue with a healthy diet avoiding processed foods (pasta, bread, prepackaged foods, prepackaged soup, dressing), refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, alcohol, dairy, soda, and refined flour. You should ease off your cleanse similar to how you eased in, but with closer attention to what you are eating to continue into a healthier lifestyle. 

You can always ease off your juice fast with our juice program where you can eat.  We provide you a list of foods that you can have and foods to avoid.

Our cold pressed juices are made without preservatives and should be consumed within the expiration date marked on the bottle.

The shelf life of our juices varies depending on the type. Our nut milks last 3-4 days, while our citrus juices (Orange, Island Breeze, Pineapple Chia) are good for 6-7 days. The greens and beet juices have a shelf life of 5-7 days, depending on the flavor. We recommend ordering enough for a week but not more. As for our shots, they generally last 9-10 days, except the Turmeric shot which is best consumed within 5-6 days. To help you keep track, each bottle is labeled with a ‘best by’ date right on the lid.

Absolutely!  The earlier you get them liking the greens the better.  

We recommend consulting with a pediatrician before introducing them into a child’s diet, especially for children under the age of 2.
